These people were among the founders of the Shaver's Lake Preservation Association.

We are indebted to these people who fought the cities, the county, the DNR the Watershed District and other organizations who wanted Shaver's Lake to turn into a cattail swamp.

As civilization was putting developmental pressure to build roads & houses the infrastructure people adopted public policies aimed at using the Shaver's watershed to meet public policy / MPCA standards for storm water.  They needed a place to put stormwater runoff.    They used Shaver's and turned a blind eye for what that has done to a pristine lake and all of its stakeholders in the ecosystem.  Even today the Cities of Minnetonka and Deephaven or even the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District take no responsibility for their part this constant battle to keep the lake a lake.
