Resident History

Turnover in our houses brings new generations of families to enjoy Shaver's Lake.  This year we've lost a number of great neighbors, friends and stewards who have faithfully supported the lake both financially and with their time.

In 2016 we've turned over 4 houses.  We look forward to getting to know our new neighbors.

Lot's of great memories get made  on and around the lake.  We have this section of our website reserved to post some of reflections from Neighbors who have moved away from the area but who still hold special thoughts for the lake.

We're missing stories about the Hazletts, Schwante's Budd's and others dating back to the 1930's when the lake was known for its great fishing and the ability to swim around the island. Yes, years ago there was an island you could swim around.
The lake was also known for its minnows and the kids in the neighborhood would sell minnows to passengers on the trolley going to excelsior at the northwestern corner to go fishing out on the big lake.   Nancy and Sam Mancino were kind enough to send us a recollection.  See the link below  If you have one you would like to post, email your submission to board@shaverslake.org.

Who did you get your house from?  Still in contact with them?  If they would like to say something, send it to us.

We are looking for more families to come forward and share their Shaver's Lake memories.  We don't want to lose the rich histories from the Schwante's,  Moisman's, Kelley's, Bryants, Simmons, Budds, Shaver, Baker and other families who have been so supportive for so many years working to keep the lake and its ecosystem pristine.
